Small-Group Champagne Lunch & Tasting from Paris with Pickup

About This Experience
Same operator and the same hotel pick-up as the cathedral itinerary, but the day is built around the wine rather than the sightseeing. There is no cathedral stop; the time goes into cellars, vines, a blind tasting and a longer lunch.
You start in Epernay with a guided tour of a prestige house — Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Taittinger, Mercier, Nicolas Feuillatte or Boizel, depending on availability. The cellar walk covers the methode champenoise properly: press, first fermentation, tirage, riddling, disgorgement, dosage.
Out in the vineyards, the guide works through grape varieties and terroir with the vines in front of you — why Chardonnay dominates the Cote des Blancs, why Pinot Meunier earns its place in a blend, and what actually separates a Grand Cru village from a Premier Cru one.
A family-run estate follows, with its own cellars and its own cuvees to compare against the morning's house style. The blind tasting is set up here or in the vines, and it is the part guests most often single out in reviews — it is the moment the day stops being a tour and starts being a lesson.
A three-course French lunch at a local restaurant is included, and the minibus returns you to your Paris hotel in the evening.

Absolutely wonderful Champagne experience from start to finish! 🥂 We had the pleasure of discovering beautiful wine houses and boutiques, enjoying the stunning Avenue de Champagne and Notre-Dame Cathedral in Reims, while being guided by the incredibly attentive and knowledgeable Max. We also had the honour of tasting wonderful French cuisine and, of course, plenty of exceptional Champagne. Everything was perfectly organized, the car was clean and comfortable, and every moment was enjoyable. Highly recommend this experience! ♥️

Max our guide was excellent. The pace of the trip was perfect. It was such a great way to see Reims and visit the Champagne houses. The lunch venue was idyllic and the final stop on the edge of the vineyard was beautiful.

We had the most wonderful day. Arthur our guide was able to answer any questions we threw at him, he was fantastic and was flexible with the day to cater to our interests. Our tour group was great which made the day even better.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the other pick-up tour by the same operator?
This itinerary drops the Reims Cathedral stop and spends the time on wine instead — a longer vineyard segment, a guided blind tasting, and more cellar time. If you want the cathedral and the Avenue de Champagne, book the cathedral itinerary; if you want to learn to taste, book this one.
What is the blind tasting?
A guided comparison where the glasses are poured without you seeing the labels, so you judge on the wine rather than the name. The guide then explains what separated them — house blend versus grower cuvee, Blanc de Blancs versus Blanc de Noirs. It runs when conditions allow.
Is there an age limit?
Tastings are for guests aged 18 and over, and a valid ID may be requested. Younger guests can travel with the group but will not be served Champagne.
What should I wear?
Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended — cellar visits involve stairs and uneven, often wet chalk floors, and the vineyard stops are outdoors. Bring a jacket for the cellars, which stay cold year-round.
Is lunch included?
Yes, a three-course French lunch at a selected local restaurant is included. Extra drinks, souvenirs and gratuities are not.
